Wood-based Panels – Determination of Formaldehyde Release – Formaldehyde emission by the chamber method

This gives a climate chamber method for determining formaldehyde emission from panels in a steady concentration under well-defined conditions.  Three options of test chamber are given in Annex A (normative).  This method can be used to estimate the concentration of formaldehyde under various conditions in practice by using mathematical models. The three chamber options are:

Option1:  Large test chamber having a minimum net volume of 12m3

Option 2: – A 1mtest chamber

Option 3: – A test chamber with a volume of 0.225m3
