Innovative use of concrete form work formed the basis of a massive renovation project on the Berkeley campus at the University of California. Built in 1923, the aging, historic California Memorial Stadium facility required renovations to bring it up to modern standards.
While maintaining the architecture and character of the celebrated structure. the project also had to incorporate a seismic retrofit to reduce risk. The $321-million project included massive amounts of concrete formed with high and medium density overlaid plywood.
