Plywood Specifications Tool

APA Products & Trademarks Plwood Specification Tool

How to use:

The plywood specification tool takes the hard work out of finding the technical information for 30 different grades. Just select your application (walls, roofs, flooring concrete formwork or even non-structural uses) and we’ll give you options for that application. If you know your grade already, go right to the grade selection box.

The tool below provides thickness options, support spacing guidance, finish, veneer strengths and the wood species used, as well as the panel’s moisture resistance or bond durability. Structural I denotes a performance-rated panel, with superior bending stiffness and strength.

Panel thickness and support spacing (called Span Rating on a US trademarked panel) should be considered together when deciding if a specific panel is suitable.  Span Rating denotes the maximum permitted centre to centre support spacing.  For ease of use, the specifical tool converts thicknesses into mm measurement, providing the midpoint as well as tolerance ranges.  The APA Construction Guide below gives further info.
