Checklist: Changes to Standards and Regulations

Note on key structural standard (BS) EN 13986:2004+A1:2015

This is the overall harmonised/designated standard for the use of plywood, OSB and LVL in construction, defining their performance characteristic and test methods. Compliance confers a presumption of ‘fitness for purpose’ for a particular, intended end use.

It has been confirmed without change but it will re-enter the formal review process once the EU-CPR is revised.  This sets down rules for construction and any changes to the EU-CPR are also likely to be reflected in a revised UK-CPR.

Decision on LVL standards still pending:

Decision on whether to amalgamate two LVL standards:

(BS) EN 14374:2004: Timber structures. Structural laminated veneer lumber. Requirements

(BS) EN 14279:2004+A1:2009: Definitions, classification and specification and include guidance on resistance to fire and fire protection ability
